Xiaheqing
Farm in Jiuquan, is China's largest hops production and processing base with
current acreage of 200 Ha and an annual output of over 800 tonnes. Xiaheqing
has favorable climate and soil conditions and the hops have been appraised by
British, Japanese and American specialists as reaching international standards.
Xiaheqing is the only Chinese hop-grower accredited to the I.H.G.C., and a member
of the standing committee.Within China Xiaheqing hops are recognised as the
best domestic product and have received national "Green Food" certification.
Renowned in Jiuquan Liquorice Root Production,we first
planted liquorice in 1985 and it has proved highly successful on dry, sandy
soils where it is a useful cash crop and can be inter-grown with pasture or
forage grass. The main variety is Ural which gives a high rate of graded roots
and yields around 15 tonnes per Ha, together with 2 tonnes of forage. The roots
are cylindrical and blunt-ended with brown and red stripes and yellow fibre.
The acid content reaches 11% and 15% after 3 and 4 years respectively.
Tiaoshan
Group Orchard Fruit Farms:Tiaoshan Fruit Farm's main products are Zaosu and
apple pears, New Star and Red Fuji apple, grapes, apricots and dates, in total
15 million kgs per year. Most products have received national "Green Food" certification
and the Zaosu pear numerous prizes at national agricultural exhibitions. The
farm is currently constructing an 533 Ha vineyard with an eventual capacity
of 12,000 tonnes of grapes and 9,000 tonnes of grape juice.
TiaoShan Liquor Co.with an annual output of 5,000 tonnes,
is one of Gansu's four largest distilleries and the first to receive ISO9002
certification. By insisting on traditional techniques and first class sorghum,
wheat and rice as ingredients, using local Shoulu Shan spring water and combining
modern technology only where appropriate it has built a strong reputation for
traditional and high-quality high-strength liquors. Tiaoshan brands are well-known
for their clarity, good flavor, fragrance and have received China's "Green Food"
approval.
